I've been in Columbus for about 5 years and before that I was in New York. I'm pretty mellow and I'm a generally kind person. I play video games of course (recently picked up Prototype 2 and Soul Calibur 5), but I'm also in high school, so games aren't my first priority. I just like to chat every once in a while to get away from school work (despite that I'm a pretty heavy procrastinator).

If anyone enjoys chess or anything let me know. When winter comes around, I'm also up for Snowboarding (or if you're into skiing). Sometimes I play a bit of backyard football with friends, but otherwise I have a pretty heavy schedule. I was more of just dropping in to get connected with a localized community. I have Skype and gmail, so those are my methods of communication. Thanks for reading =)

I'm not technically an Ohio fur, but me and my group live 10 min south of Cincy so we tend to associate with all of our Ohio brethren the most. I thought it was about time to drop in and say hi, especially since we're going to be at Morphicon again this year.

I'm Sal. :) Those who have been to Morphicon may know me by "Growly Genet". I work with Ringtail Cafe Productions - a publishing company that produces both anthro and non-anthro comics, magazines and books. We've got a brand new issue of The Confectionaries for this con and I'm so excited we'll be getting to share it with everyone.

Also, for anyone interested in furry comics, we're currently running a Kickstarter to pay for the printing of Ringtail Cafe Issue #6. It's not easy, given that RTC is a furry book, but we hope the reduce in price point will make things more appealing for shops we're marketing too. Looking for fabric scrap donations for Morphicon

I will be running the ears and tail making workshop at Morphicon this year, and am looking for anyone local (within an hour or two of Columbus) who has some faux fur fabric scraps that they'd be willing to donate to the convention. It can be small swatches or weirdly-shaped remnants that you have leftover from a
previous project. Please contact me directly if you have something to donate, and we'll work out a way to transfer the fabric to before or at Morphicon.

Wednesday August 17th, Okay this is going to be an all across Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana event :3 PKI (use to be known as paramount kings island) now its known as kings island Meet starts at 8 am at Ihop, (directions below :3), We will gather things up and head over to the park around 9:30AM NO LATER! :3 The meetup place is listed below

The tickets will be 53 ish usd at the gate, you can buy discounted tickets at any kroger location for like 35 a piece, also important, ihop is exactly 4 miles.from the park, make sure you have a ride from the resturant to the park, (directions located.below.from ihop to the park) the 3rd and final meetup point will be at the oktoberfest house around 5-6pm by the corner most towards the larosas pizza and the bathrooms

This year, we'll be raising donations in support of Clarion PAWS through our fantastic Charity Raffle. New here but looking to make friends. I just moved from Sycamore Illinois. I love music, circuit bending (<-- dork, I know!) and drawing. I'm not great on the internet and would really like to meet some furs in person (in furson?)

I have been lurking a while on this LJ and decided I finally have something worthwhile to announce! Some of you might have heard about this via the OhioFurs mailing list posts, but many of you probably have not, so here goes.

I have been seeking out like-minded fellow Christian furs locally to be able to meetup, chat, socialize, and have open discussion about our faith and what it means to us. I thought that to make such contact easier and to be generally more accessible to more people then just local meets, I decided to set up a forum and a chatroom. For any Christian (practicing or not) or any who seek God in their lives...for those furries who live in Ohio or other parts of the midwest...to get together for fellowship, conversation, and spiritual reflection. The forum is set up with sections for inspiration, knowledge, personal sharing, and topics and questions relating to the Faith and to what that means to us as furs.

I humbly welcome you to come, take a look and join in! Finally a safe place for you to express your faith with others, without fear of reprisal or condemnation. I know the furry fandom is full of those who like to jeer at or mock those with strong Christian beliefs, and I hope that this group will give strength and courage to those who feel they have to hide their faith.

I know the forum and membership seems small right now, but the more people that we have join up and take part, the bigger and better it shall become! So again, I invite you to take a look and take part!

Furs in Need

Some of you know thrashbear, who's attended Morphicon before. His neighbor's house caught fire last night, and it spread to his house as well. He and his roommates fire_lupine, firefoxbc and landis_mclovin have lost pretty well all of their stuff. They have places to stay until the house can be repaired, but they've lost basically had all of their possessions ruined by smoke and water damage.

Their friend dobie (also an ex-panellist at Morphicon) has set up a PayPal account to take donations. The link is at http://lildobe.livejournal.com/199892.html . He also has a physical address there where donations of clothing, small appliances, electronics, etc can be sent. Surplus items will be given to local charities.

I'm not even sure if anyone would pay any attention to this message or not, but here goes...

I've been really interested in perhaps getting a small group together for discussion, study, prayer, fellowship, and fun. My main intentions would be for us to be able to get to have regular meetups for talking and group fellowship, as well as perhaps online chat. Topics of course would include spirituality, life, troubles, advice, study, and all around getting to have a social network of close friends to come to for support. Besides regular meet-ups, various fun activities could be planned, or various volunteer charity works. I have been seeking out like-minded furs to maybe get some real local participation going. [WPAFW] Pre-reg ends in Two Weeks!

Hey everyone!

The Western Pennsylvania Furry Weekend is coming up on October 1-3, 2010, in Pittsburgh, PA. That's just over a month away and the staff and I have been busy getting everything ready for your arrival and a fun weekend of furry fellowship.

First, let me send my thanks to everyone who's pre-registered for the Western Pennsylvania Furry Weekend already for the basic and supporter levels! Thank you so much for your support of the event.

Everyone else...well what are you waiting for? Pre-registration closes on September 12th and with it your chance to save some $$ from the "at the door" rates.

Well for those of you still on the fence about attending, we've updated our website with a full Schedule of Activities for the weekend along with descriptions of the events we have arranged for your enjoyment. Aside from the signature "Fur-b-que" picnic at the park on Saturday, we have a puppet show, a menagerie full of fursuit antics, and dances on Friday AND Saturday nights. There are also games, a drum circle, a geocache, and laser tag. If you just want to come, relax and hang out with friends, we've got plenty of room for that too. All this is thanks to the hard work of our Operations Chair Cadpig Lion.

To augment the tickets that come with your registration, we sell additional tickets you place in the bucket for the specific items you want to try and win. All proceeds from the ticket sales are donated to our selected charity The Beaver County Humane Society. Over the past two WPAFW's the generosity of our attendees has raised $2500 for this worthy non-profit group.

Pre-registration rates right now are $25 for a Basic Friday and Saturday registration; a savings of $5 off the "at the door" rate for the entire event.
Pre-registration rates for Supporter memberships are only $40 and come with all sorts of swag to sweeten the deal: color print of the cover art, extra raffle tickets, front of the line privileges for lunch and dinner, as well as a special something currently in the works. Also! ONLY Pre-registered Supporters will get a $5 gift card to Denny's...have "breakfast on us" or save it for another time.

Registration will be open at the event. "At the Door" Basic registration is $30 on Friday & Saturday, $25 for Saturday Only. This year you can register or upgrade to Supporter for $40 or the difference between your pre-registered rate and the Supporter rate. On site Supporter registrations will get the same swag as supplies last, with the exception of the Denny's gift card.

We do have a small block of rooms available at the Comfort Inn Pittsburgh North at the rate of $74.99 a night which puts you right in the heart of the action Friday and Saturday nights. Reservations must be made by calling the hotel and reserving a room. The group name and number are available on the WPAFW website.
